Saturday is the cutoff date for the state sectional tournament.
So teams will be jockeying for position this week trying to snag one of those six coveted spots in each section and compete for a state team title.
The top six teams in each section based on power points after all matches are completed Saturday will qualify for the state sectional tournament which begins Monday, Feb. 11.
Only two local teams currently hold the top seed in their section.
Paramus is tops in the power point rankings in North 1, Group 3 with a slim lead over Northern Highlands. But Northern Highlands would jump over Paramus into the top spot and home gym advantage by virtue of their head-to-head victory over Paramus last week as long as the Highlanders remain one spot behind Paramus.
DePaul is the top-ranked team in North Non-Public B.
Emerson/Park Ridge (North 1, Group 1), River Dell (North 1, Group 2), North Bergen (North 1, Group 4) and Bergen Catholic (North Non-Public A) hold down the second spot in their respective sections and the first-round bye that goes with it if the rankings remain as they are.
