The Joe Poli girl’s basketball tournament at Pascack Valley has pushed its opening round back to Tuesday with the second round Thursday and championship round scheduled for Sunday. The times and matchups remain the same.
River Dell coach Lou Wejnert had to get creative with his rescheduling, working the rest of the games in his Holiday Hoop Jam in on Monday around the boy’s tournament so the rest of the week can stay on schedule.North Bergen plays Ridgewood at 11 a.m., Hackensack plays Wayne Valley at 12:30 p.m and the host Lady Hawks take on paramus at 7:30 p.m..
“We might have gotten two games in [on Sunday], but we were worried about what it would be like for people going home after the second game around 3:30 or so. You can’t take a chance.â€
The Marist tournament, featuring Kennedy and Teaneck, had its opening round postponed to Tuesday with the championship round now slated for Friday.
