Don Bosco beat Bergen Catholic last night 6-5, but the only thing most people talked about afterward was the weather. Last night was one of the coldest lacrosse game I have ever been to (other than when I played in New England in March of 2000) and it looked even colder on the field. Getting hit with a lacrosse shot in the freezing cold isn’t fun and a few players suffered that fate last night. The pain stings at first, tightens up after that and leaves a big bruise the next day. It’s a good thing Don Bosco has a day in between last night and its game against Kinnelon Thursday because last nights game is going to take a full day to recover from. And the bruises aren’t going to go away for a few weeks.
But here are some thoughts I had about the Bosco-Bergen game and the Pascack Valley-River Dell game, which I attended before heading into the freezing night to watch BC-DB in a game I reported here.
