I know some will disagree, but I thought the seeding committee for the Bergen County softball tournament did a good job. The biggest surprise from the seeds was River Dell not being higher, but I had the same top five teams. I also didn’t think Ridgewood would be seeded so high, but that was based on the Maroons’ record not their talent. I’d be surprised if any coaches wanted to face Ridgewood now.

Hmm, that might not be a good word with all the rain we’ve been having. Much as I’d like to predict some upsets, IHA and Paramus are the best Bergen County teams I’ve seen this season. But this is a wide open field and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a lower seed make some noise. With so many good teams and no overwhelming one like Indian Hills was last season, it should be a very wide open tournament. There will be a team or two going home much earlier than expected.
