For the first time in school history, Ramapo has been named the top seed for the Oscar F. Thompson Memorial Jamboree basketball tournament. The Raiders (13-1) lead a field of 23 into the 60th annual Jamboree, which begins on Saturday with seven first round games.

Don Bosco was awarded the two seed, with Teaneck the three seed and St. Joseph the four seed. Bergen Catholic, Ramsey Paramus Catholic, Pascack Hills and Old Tappan hold down the five through nine seeds, respectively, and join the top four with a bye this weekend.
The first round games will be played at Bergen Catholic, Bergenfield and Old Tappan on Saturday.

A quartet of teams are returning to the field after extended absences, starting with Park Ridge. The Owls last played in the Jamboree in 2008, and they are followed closely by Palisades Park (2010), River Dell (2010) and Queen of Peace (2011).

There were 31 teams that submitted applications and eight of them (Demarest, Dwight Morrow, Emerson, Glen Rock, Northern Highlands, Ridgefield, Ridgewood, Wood Ridge) did not receive bids to the tournament.
