I witnessed one of the more interesting spectacles in sports yesterday when Glen Rock traveled to River Dell for two home state tournament soccer games. The girls played first, the boys second, but only the girls won. But what made this interesting, however not unique since the storm hit last Saturday, was that Glen Rock was welcomed to a visiting stadium with open arms by River Dell AD Dennis Nelson. He knows their field at school has been unplayable all year and he also knows the facility at his school can handle Glen Rock’s two games, then the River Dell girls soccer practice, then the RD football practice. That’s why he offered his field to them and to several other schools, to be a help. And boy was he ever.
