The Ridgewood boys and girls teams both jumped into The Record Top 10 this week, the final poll before this Saturday’s Bergen County Meet of Champions.

The Maroons girls jumped from unranked to No. 9 and recently beat No. 10 Passaic Tech and kept No. 4 NV/Demarest within 10 points in a loss.

The Maroons boys weren’t able to upset No. 4 Passaic Tech on Tuesday, but earned a very respectable result. They scored 63 points on the Bulldogs (11-0), the third most points the county champions have allowed in a dual meet his season.

Passaic Tech still improved one position by beating Teaneck last week, while Indian Hills and Athlete of the Week Matt Smits moved up to No. 8.

One of the most interesting girls meets take place tonight (Wednesday) when No. 3 Pascack Regional faces No. 4 NV/Demarest at Passaic Tech’s pool. Both teams enter the meet undefeated in division play so it will be an interesting test for each school making final preparations before the county meet.
