Teaneck’s Jason Arthur on his way to breaking a school record in the 500M freestyle with a time of 4:47.78. MICHAEL KARAS / STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER

The Northern Highlands boys and Hackensack girls both jumped one spot in the latest edition of The Record top 10, the only movement in an otherwise quiet week in North Jersey swimming.

The Highlanders’ most recent win was on Dec. 21 against a strong division opponent in Indian Hills, who came into the meet undefeated. Francis Biagioli and Dan Mecca continued their strong seasons for Northern Highlands with two individual wins each.

Hackensack improved to 5-1-1 by beating Garfield, 109-57, back on Dec. 22.

On the girls side, the Big North Patriot continues to be the deepest division. Four teams from the division made the Top 10 this week with a fifth (4-3 Teaneck) as one of top teams outside the poll.

In case you missed it, here’s my full roundup of Week 4 of North Jersey swimming.
