Some 11 hours after the final whistle at the New Meadowlands Stadium last night, we’re back at it again in Union on the campus of Kean University as the state football finals continue. The opening game of the day will be a rematch of a regular season contest as Ramsey looks to defend its North 1 Group 2 title against Lakeland. The Lancers won the October 22 meeting by a 47-27 score in a game where Lakeland quarterback Steve Wilken threw seven touchdown passes.
That game saw Ramsey run for nearly 350 yards, with Dejan Adair and Ken Major both breaking 100 yards. Can the Rams repeat that effort behind its big and experienced offensive line? Is Wilken going to find Cody Geyer with 10 passes like he did the first time? Much like they did last week against River Dell, does Ramsey revenge its loss to the Lancers?
All intriguing questions that will start to be answered in about a half hour from now.
