The selection committee for the Bergen County ice hockey tournament released the 12 teams selected for the 5th annual event.  To no one’s surprise, Don Bosco (8-2-2), the four-time defending champion, was awarded the top seed.

The Ironmen, fresh off a 3-1 defeat of Christian Brothers on Wednesday, are the prohibitive favorite for the event, which begins on Wednesday, January 13.  The rest of the field will be gunning to knock them off, beginning with St. Joseph (10-0), awarded the second seed.

Ramsey (9-1-1) is the third seed and Glen Rock (8-1-2) the fourth seed.  the top four seeds receive a bye into the quarterfinal round.  The other eight teams will play in the opening round on Wednesday.  All games will be played at the Ice Vault in Wayne.

The tournament will be re-seeded after the first round, with the lowest remaining seed playing don Bosco, the next lowest playing St. Joseph and so on.  The quarterfinals are on Friday, January 15, with the semifinals on Sunday, January 17 and the championship game on Wednesday, January 20.
