First, the responses I got for the “pitchers victories” post is tremendous. I had some numbers wrong, and have a lot more names now to add.
Second, I forgot to update something else we had cross our screen. Remember that walk-off 9-0 three-run triple??

Before I show the list, remember, here is the situation, Team Awesome batting, bottom 5th, bases loaded, they lead 9-0 over Team Bad. Girl hits a bases-clearing triple. What is the final score? Is it officially 12-0 or 10-0?
I heard from a bunch of different people, but finally, the NJSIAA softball rules interpreter Allison Munch sent this email.

“In this particular case, as soon as the batter touches 1st base safely, the game is over. Therefore the score would be 10-0 and the batter would be credited 1RBI.”

So now, we have official word. Do I think this will end the debate? No. But that’s what makes this fun.

Ok, so now the Career victories list, and yes, I know there are others out there. If you have a suggestion, or, better yet, if you have a record for me, please email me.

My thanks to Greg Tartaglia from the Ridgewood News who gave me a slew of records/names. Of course, this is very much a work in progress.

Also, last word, I can’t tell you how happy I was to hear about Rich Wilson and Dumont closing in on his 400th win. You know why? Because I had asked him for years to get his win total, and now I can scratch him off the list. Rich should get 400 sometime next week. So, now, who is No. 1 on my wish list? Bob Aughey from Fort Lee has also been around 30-plus years and hasn’t kept track. Or at least, says he hasn’t. If I had him, well, I would be happy.

Ok, back to work here at Penn Relays.
