Hope you’re enjoying this review of Bergen and Passaic County track and field records and this year’s top returnees.

Today it’s the jumpers and pole vaulters turn, and here some of the finest all around athletes appear. There have been a total of 13 boys and 12 girls have won State Meet of Champions in these four events, including the first ever North Jersey boys pole vault winner — Eric Geider of Demarest, now at the University of Pennsylvania. Will North Jersey make it two in a row? Very possible.

First a correction, actually an addition. I left Jake Sabatini of Ridgewood off the top sprint returnees in the 100. Sabatini ran 11.05 last year and is tied for 38th all-time in the event.
