Look for Immaculate Heart and unbeatens NV/Old Tappan and River Dell to earn No. 1 slots in their respective groups at Wednesday’s NJSIAA Team Tournament Seeding Meeting.
Non-Public IHA (23-5) is four-time defending Tournament of Champions titlist, with four of its losses coming outside New Jersey. Group 3 NV/Old Tappan (14-0) and defending Group 2 champ River Dell (17-0) should be no-brainers as well.
Wednesday was the cutoff to qualify for the NJSIAA tournament and a team with a .500 record automatically earned a bid in one of the five groups. There will be 32 teams in each group, with a bracket expanding if there are more than 32 teams at .500. If there are less than 32 teams in a bracket, teams under .500 will be added.
Once the teams in each group are confirmed, coaches will use a variety of criteria, including won-loss, strength of schedule and head-to-head, to determine the seeds.
Below is a list of the North Jersey teams that achieved .500 records through Wednesday, based on results reported to and collected by The Record:

GROUP 2:
River Dell (17-0), Mahwah (17-3), NV/Demarest (15-3), Tenafly (19-4), Pascack Hills (13-3), Garfield (21-7), Ramapo (12-5), Fort Lee (16-8), Lakeland (12-7), Ridgefield Park (11-10).
GROUP 3:
NV/Old Tappan (14-0), Paramus (16-3), Wayne Valley (17-4), Fair Lawn (16-7), Northern Highlands (11-8).
GROUP 4:
Clifton (19-4), Hackensack (15-12), Bergen Tech (14-12), Ridgewood (9-8), Passaic Tech (12-11).
NON-PUBLIC:
Immaculate Heart (23-5), Holy Angels (11-6), DePaul (7-7), Paramus Catholic (10-10).
