Clifton, riding a nine-match winning streak, has leaped into the top spot in the North 1, Group 5 state wrestling power point rankings released by the NJSIAA Wednesday.
The Mustangs join Emerson/Park Ridge (N1,G2), Paramus (N1,G3), Passaic Valley (N2,G3), Bergen Catholic (NNPA) and unbeaten Queen of Peace (NNPB) atop their respective sectional rankings.
The cutoff date for the state sectional tournament is next Saturday, Jan. 30. The sectionals begin on Monday Feb. 8.
