Congratulations to River Dell senior softball player Chloe DeSanctis for being chosen The Record’s Female Athlete of the Week for 5/31/11. Softball plays at Ramsey today in the NJSIAA State Sectional semi-finals. The game will be played at Tisdale Elementary School located at 200 Island Avenue in Ramsey, 07446. Game start time is 4 pm.
Golf has been selected as the Bergen County small school Team of the Year by the Bergen County Coaches Association.
Boys and Girls Track team members competed in the NJSIAA State Sectionals at Mahwah last Friday and Saturday. Several team members by virtue of the their performance and finish in the top 6 earned the right to compete in the State Groups this coming Friday and Saturday at South Plainfield. Brad Hoey placed first in the pole vault, Jillian Hudson placed second in the shot put and javelin and third in the discus and Matt Koh placed third in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Other placers for RD were; Sam Schleiger (5th in 400) Jamie Woods (6th in 100 hurdles) Cat McQuade (3rd in 400 hurdles) Craig Marulis (3rd in 400 hurdles) James Canino (3rd in long jump)  Steve Sellers (4th in disc) Sam Becourtney (2nd in javelin) Paige Fernandez (6th in 800)
